Who is Shri Rani Sati ( Dadi Maa)

The history of Shri Rani Sati dadi maa starts from the time of Mahabharata. It is believed that Dadi Rani Sati He also granted her wish of being married to Abhimanyu and her desire to be sati in her next life. As granted by Lord Krishna, in her next life she was born as the daughter of Gursamal in the village of Dokwa in Rajasthan. She was named – Narayani. Abhimanyu was birth in Hissar as the son of Jaliram and was named – Tandhan. Tandan and Narayani got married and were leading a peaceful life. He was in possession of a beautiful horse that had been eyed by the son of the king of Hissar for quite some time. Tandan refused to hand over his precious horse to the king’s son.

The king’s son then decides to forcefully acquire the horse and thus challenges Tandan for combat. However, Tandan fights the battle bravely and kills the King’s son instead. The enraged king thus kills Tandan in front of Narayani in the battle. Narayani symbolic of female bravery and power fights with the king and kills him. She then commanded Ranaji (the caretaker of the horse) to make immediate arrangements for her to be set ablaze along with her husband’s cremation.

Ranaji playing a vital role in fulfilling her wish to be sati with her husband is then blessed by Narayani that his name will be taken and worshiped along with her name and since then she has been known as Rani Sati.

Beliefs of Temple The Rani Sati Temple in Jhunjhunu is administered by the Marwari Temple Board from Calcutta. It is one of the wealthiest Temple trusts in India. It is said that the earning of this temple amounts little less than that of Tirupati Balaji Temple in south India.

There are many organizations that have made numerous efforts for the sati puja to be banned. They perceive the practice and devotion of people to such a number of Sati temples across India as the spreading and affirmation of Sati Pratha. To a certain extent, it may be considered as a threat to people still living in the ancient era. However one can also not ignore the profits made by Sati Temple, through these devotees, which in turn has proved quite beneficial for the progress of natives. परम आराध्य श्री दादी जी के प्रताप उनके वैभव व अपने भक्तों पर निःस्वार्थ कृपा बरसाने वाली “माँ नारायाणी” को कौन नही जानता | भारत में ही नही विदेशों में भी इनके भक्त और उपासक हैं|

पौराणिक इतिहास से ग्यात होता है की महाभारत के युद्ध में चक्रव्यूह में वीर अभीमन्यु वीर गति को प्राप्त हुए थे | उस समय उत्तरा जी को भगवान श्री कृष्णा जी ने वरदान दिया था की कलयुग में तू “नारायाणी” के नाम से श्री सती दादी के रूप में विख्यात होगी और जन जन का कल्याण करेगी, सारे दुनिया में तू पूजीत होगी | उसी वरदान के स्वरूवप श्री सती दादी जी आज से लगभग 715 वर्ष पूर्वा मंगलवार मंगसिर वदि नवमीं सन्न 1352 ईस्वीं 06.12.1295 को सती हुई थी |

जन्म – श्री दादी सती का जन्म संवत 1638 वि. कार्तिक शुक्ला नवमीं दिन मंगलवार रात १२ बजे के पश्चात डोकवा गाँव में हुआ था | इनके पिता का नाम सेठ श्री गुरसामल जी था |

बचपन – इनका नाम नारायाणी बाई रखा गया था | ये बचपन में धार्मिक व सतियो वाले खेल खेलती थी | बड़े होने पर सेठ जी ने उन्हे धार्मिक शिक्षा के साथ-साथ शस्त्र शिक्षा व घुड़सवारी की शिक्षा भी दिलाई थी | बचपन से ही इनमे दैविक शक्तियाँ नज़र आती थी, जिससे गाँव के लोग आश्चर्य चकित थे |

विवाह – नारायाणी बाई का विवाह हिस्सर राज्य के सेठ श्री ज़ालीराम जी के पुत्रा तनधन दास जी के साथ मंगसिर शुक्ला नवमीं सन्न 1352 मंगलवार को बहुत ही धूम धाम से हुआ था |

तनधन जी का इतिहास – इनका जन्म हिस्सार के सेठ ज़ालीराम जी के घर पर हुआ था | इनकी माता का नाम शारदा देवी था | छोटे भाई का नाम कमलाराम व बहिन का नाम स्याना था | ज़ालीराम जी हिस्सार में दीवान थे | वहाँ के नॉवब के पुत्र और तनधन दास जी में मित्रता थी परंतु समय व संस्कार की बात है, तनधन दास जी की घोड़ी शहज़ादे को भा गयी | घोड़ी पाने की ज़िद से दोनो में दुश्मनी ठन गयी | घोड़ी छीनने के प्रयत्न में शहज़ादा मारा गया | इसी हादसे से घबरा कर दीवान जी रातो रत परिवार सहित हिस्सर से झुनझुनु की ओर चल दिए | हिस्सर सेना की ताक़त झुनझुनु सेना से टक्कर लेने की नही थी | दोनो शाहो में शत्रुता होने के कारण ये लोग झुनझुनु में बस गये |

मुकलावा – मुकलावे के लिए ब्राह्मण के द्वारा दीवान साहब के पास निमंत्रण भेजा गया | निमंत्रण स्वीकार होने पर तनधन दास जी राणा के साथ कुछ सैनिको सहित मुकलावे के लिए “महम” पहुँचे | मंगसिर कृष्णा नवमीं सन्न 1352 मंगलवार प्रातः शुभ बेला में नारायाणी बाई विदा हुई |

परंतु होने को कुछ और ही मंजूर था | इधर नवाब घात लगाकर बैठा था | मुकलावे की बात सुनकर सारी पहाड़ी को घेर लिया | “देवसर” की पहाड़ी के पास पहुँचते ही सैनिको ने हमला कर दिया | तनधन दास जी ने वीरता से डटकर हिस्सारी फ़ौजो का सामना किया | विधाता का लेख देखिए पीछे से एक सैनिक ने धोके से वार कर दिया, तनधन जी वीरगति को प्राप्त हुए |

नई नवेली दुल्हन ने डोली से जब यह सब देखा तो वह वीरांगना नारायाणी चंडी का रूप धारण कर सारे दुश्मनो का सफ़ाया कर दिया | झडचन का भी एक ही वार में ख़ात्मा कर दिया | लाशो से ज़मीन को पाट दिया | सारी भूमि रक्त रंजीत हो गयी | बची हुई फौज भाग खड़ी हुई | इसे देख राणा जी की तंद्रा जगी, वे आकर माँ नाराराणी से प्रार्थना करने लगे, तब माता ने शांत होकर शस्त्रों का त्याग किया |
फिर राणा जी को बुला कर उनसे कहा – मैं सती होउंगी तुम जल्दी से चीता तय्यार करने के लिए लकड़ी लाओ | चीता बनने में देर हुई और सूर्या छिपने लगा तो उन्होने सत् के बल से सूर्या को ढलने से रोक दिया | अपने पति का शव लेकर चीता पर बैठ गई | चुड़े से अग्नि प्रकट हुई और सती पति लोक चली गयी | चीता धू धू जलने लगी | देवताओं ने गदन से सुमन वृष्टि की |

वरदान – तत्पश्चात चीता में से देवी रूप में सती प्रकट हुई और मधुर वाणी में राणा जी से बोली, मेरी चीता की भस्म को घोड़ी पर रख कर ले जाना, जहाँ ये घोड़ी रुक जाएगी वही मेरा स्थान होगा | मैं उसी जगह से जन-जन का कल्याण करूँगी | ऐसा सुन कर राणा बहुत रुदन करने लगा | तब माँ ने उन्हे आशीर्वाद दिया की मेरे नाम से पहले तुम्हारा नाम आएगा “रानी सती” नाम इसी कारण से प्रसीध हुआ | घोड़ी झुनझुनु गाँव में आकर रुक गयी | भस्म को भी वहीं पघराकर राणा ने घर में जाकर सारा वृतांत सुनाया | ये सब सुनकर माता पिता भाई बहिन सभी शोकाकुल हो गये | आज्ञनुसार भस्म की जगह पर एक सुंदर मंदिर का निर्माण कराया | आज वही मंदिर एक बहुत बड़ा पुण्य स्थल है, जहाँ बैठी माँ “रानी सती दादी जी” अपने बच्चो पर अपनी असीम अनुकंपा बरसा रही है | अपनी दया दृष्टि से सभी को हर्षा रही है |

Main Festival

Rani Sati mandir is one of the most famous temples in Rajasthan. It is situated in Jhunjhunu district.
BHADO AMAVASYA or Bhadi Mavas (the sky at night appears without the moon ) is the Main festival of Shri Rani Sati Jee (Dadi ma).

The most extraordinary feature of this famous temple is that it does not hold any paintings or statues of either female or male gods. Instead, a trident depicting power and force is worshipped religiously by the followers.
